This project involved upgrading a small power plant’s control systems from Siemens S5 to S7 and implementing a new WinCC SCADA system to modernize operations.
A key challenge was designing the PLC controls and interface for non-computer-literate operators, requiring it to be self-explanatory and require minimal onboarding training.
A 3D interface was developed with 360-degree rotation, allowing operators to easily visualize equipment, locate alarms, and understand data sources quickly.
